merry christmas y'all
bah!
about a month ago i started having a clear out of old clothes, books and bric a brac etc….. i don’t know what came over me but i decided to chuck out all my old jw literature because we literally have no more room.
it started with magazines, then books, ministry literature and once i started, couldn’t stop.
weird right?
when my old jw dad went into a care home--i stripped his house to sell it.
I found 50 + years of watchtower and awake magazines--each year filed into cereal boxes. Loads of books--and a large box of old congregation records. The whole lot went to the tip. ( together with over 70 plastic tonic water bottles )
i think its creepy some exjs list old watchtower books on ebay.
on february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.
i think he's a member on here.
even elders can be part of the new jw lite brigade these days.
they don’t need to go on door to door anymore and there is no requirement for anything really.. taking meeting parts is all dead easy you could turn up on the day with zero preparation because it’s all in the meeting workbook.. quarterly elders meetings are just old men having a good old natter just like old men do down the pub.. congregations could be likened to pubs or bars these days just without the drinks, those come at other times.. no need for territory maps, these almost went away with covid letter writing now they are extremely slow getting finished as those who still go door to door only do ten mins.. you could even voice your questions these days about things the gb say and then just say “we can’t be dogmatic we just don’t know”.
i predict they will say this about 1914 soon..
@Ron W
90 hours a month ? Thats lightweight..in my day it was 100 a month
plus 3 days a week cleaning windows.
so there was nothing in scripture about brothers having beards... do the 'scriptures condemn sisters wearing pants'...???.
excessive control.
the september 2016 watchtower article "does your style of dress glorify god?
by " pants "-do you mean Knickers ?
wotcher mate--Hows Nugget ?
a sister has snitched on me.
got a message from my group overseer requesting a little chat to see if i’m okay.
urgent suggestions needed please.
and dont forget to ask for a loan

JW lite is--in fact--nothing new.
Back in the 60s i knew lots of male dubs who fitted the bill completely: dragged along by their wives, never answering up, no door knocking, no ministry school, many smoked. Some only ever showed up on nisan14--to get their card stamped.
Rubber dubs.
beans ?
( human beans ).
to those of you that believe in god: do you all believe the same thing ?.
/\ this is why i dont believe in a god...its simpler
"the new study indicates that the oceans that covered the entire planet in water were at least 300 metres deep.
they may have been up to one kilometre deep.".
yet, some secularists say they are sure that the earth was never completely flooded with water above the tops of mountains as described in genesis.
@Sea Breeze
what changed your mind ?
